Each summer the Learning Center at the Gillam-Grant offers many learning opportunities for our community. We offer a variety of Summer Camps from Robotics and Programming to Pet Care and Cooking.
We are open Monday-Friday by appointment for your summer tutoring needs. Tutoring can help prevent summer learning loss or help students pass their August regents.

Cosplay Camp- July 30-August 3 9am-3pm ages 12 & Up Calling all cosplayers and creative fans! Join us for a week of cosplay workshop. We’ll cover the basics using materials from cardboard to 6mm foam to Worbla; using techniques such as sewing, proper use of adhesives, sanding, painting, enameling, and molding those special details. We’ll share those special tips and processes that help make a cosplay shine. Each participant will create their own bodyform to work with, and will design, plan, construct, and complete a cosplay project of choice. ALL SUPPLIES INCLUDED. Cost: $150M/$160NM Bring a bagged lunch.
World of Ninja Camp- August 13-17 9-12 AM entering 3rd – 6th Students will explore the world of the Ninja-Japan. Students will learn about Japanese culture, cuisine, language and geography. We will write our names in Japanese, make volcanos, cook a Japanese meal and learn some ninja moves with Sensa Cyndi Jones. Cost:$50M/$55NM
Fabulous Fruit Cooking Camp- August 13-17 9-12 AM entering 4th – 6th Summer time means fresh fruit! Explore all the ways to enjoy summers bounty! Students will prepare their own healthy lunch each day that includes a fruit entrée. Each day students will also prepare a fruit item to take home and share with the family such as jelly, a baked good or a frozen treat. Lunch and ingredients included in camp cost. Cost: $60M/$65NM
Kids and Kritters Camp- August 13-17 1-4 PM entering 2nd – 6th Kids of all ages can come to learn how to take care of their pets..Learn about animal behavior, animal care and safety. Make treats and toys for your pet. Students will also learn about the problems facing animals today and careers involving animals. Students will visit an area farm on the last day. camp. Cost:$50M/$55NM
Sumobot Challenge Camp- August 20-24 9-12AM entering 4th – 6th Students will work all week to design, build and program a robot that will outlast its competitions in the sumobot ring. Then Friday all students compete against each other to see who will be the champion! Cost:$45M/$50NM
Once Upon a Time STEM* Camp- August 20-24 9-12 AM entering 1st – 3rd Let’s put a twist on fairy tales. Can you make a bridge strong enough to hold the 3 billy goats gruff? Or build a house that will keep out the big bad wolf when he huffs and puffs? Or make a trap to help Hansel and Gretel catch the witch? Each day of camp we will read a different fairy tale and try a different engineering challenge. Cost:$45M/$50NM
NXT Remote Control Robot Racing Camp- August 20-24 1-4 PM entering 3rd – 6th Come have fun racing a remote control robot through various obstacle course challenges! Partners will build robots to complete various challenges that include going through tunnels, crossing bridges or maneuvering through difficult terrain. Cost: $45M/$50N
