Each summer the Learning Center at the Gillam-Grant offers many learning opportunities for our community. We offer a variety of Summer Camps from Robotics and Programming to Pet Care and Cooking.
We are open Monday-Friday by appointment for your summer tutoring needs. Tutoring can help prevent summer learning loss or help students pass their August regents.

Summer Camps
All Camps are half-day morning or afternoon sessions. WHEN REGISTERED FOR A FULL DAY – Monitored recess and lunch time is offered for an additional $10 in between camps for campers signed up for am and pm sessions. Register online. Registration deadline for Learning Center Camps is July 15th. Learning Center camps are for grades 3 – 6
Cardboard Challenge Camp: Houses, Forts and Castles
August 12-16 9am-12 pm Grades 3-6
Build your own house, castle, fort, dollhouse, or pet home out of cardboard. At this camp, you will learn the techniques needed to make it collapsible so that you can pack it up to take home or tuck it away when you want it out of the way. Students registered for the cardboard challenge camp are offered a free spot in Paper Hearts Puppets Cardboard Workshop if registered before June 15th and space is still available. Cost: $45M/$50NM
Nailed It Cake Challenge Camp August 12-16 1pm-4pm Grades 3-6
Kids! This camp will teach you the skills you need to Nail that Cake! First, learn how to shape cakes, make frosting and fondant and the decorating techniques needed to make amazing cakes. Then just like the TV show put your skills to the test to see who will Nail the cake challenge!

Lego STEM Challenge Camp* August 19-23 9am-12pm Grades 3-6
Love building with Legos? Join us for Lego camp! Can you build a skyscraper that can withstand an Earthquake? Can you build the bridge that can support the most weight? Every day a different build and every day a different challenge. Cost: $45M/$50NM
Star Wars Camp August 19-23 1pm-4pm Grades 3-6
Calling all Stars Wars enthusiasts – You don’t want to miss this camp. Go on a lightsaber scavenger hunt and attend Jedi training. Spend each afternoon playing Star Wars games, making snacks and crafts, and learning a little star wars science. Cost: $50M/$55NM

Summer Tutoring
Need a tutor for the Summer? We have tutors in all subject areas ready to tutor all summer for Grades K- 12.
READING, WRITING, MATH, SCIENCE, & SOCIAL STUDIES
Summer Hours: Appointments available 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Friday
Program Registration Policy
Register online or by phone (494-1621) or in-person at Gillam-Grant Community Center. Registration and payment with GGCC is required one week prior to the program unless otherwise indicated. GGCC reserves the right to cancel programs for any reason including lack of participation. Decisions to cancel classes due to low enrollment are made one week prior to the start date. If a class within a given program is canceled, Gillam-Grant will make every effort to reschedule the class on a similar day, at a similar time. If this is not possible, the class may need to be made up on a different day and/or time. Gillam-Grant adheres to a no-refund policy unless otherwise indicated specific to a program. Gillam-Grant reserves the right to charge a $40 returned check fee.
